This mortgage program is a Federal initiative to assist homeowners who currently have an adjustable rate mortgage resulting in payment increases that they can not afford. FHA Secure Mortgages offer assistance to homeowners in refinancing their current mortgage into a fixed rate mortgage under a FHA program to prevent a default on the existing mortgage.
